Profiling is the art of extrapolating information about something based on known qualities. In football sense profiling can occur at team level and individual player level.
Team Profiling
Team profiling can happen on many levels, from passing, defending, team shape, shots on goal etc. the list would be endless. This team profiling can then be used by coaches to develop training sessions and plan 10-week structure to improve aspects of a game.
Basic Game Profiling: Recording the number of shots, assists, corners, free kicks your team gain during the 2 half’s. PDF
